PRESS CARTOON EUROPE PCE 2009

1. The name of this cartoon contest is Press Cartoon Europe (PCE) 2010
2. The theme(s) of the PCE 2010 is current affairs of 2009 (politics, social life, arts, sports, etc.)
3. The PCE 2010 is open to cartoonists who are professional.
4. The deadline for receipt of cartoons is Friday 1st January 2010
5. On Friday 8th January 2010 the selection committee of PCE will nominate the cartoons chosen from all those submitted to go forward for the PCE Grand Prix. The authors of these cartoons will be notified immediately
6.The jury's award will be made on Wednesday 17th February 2010
7.The exhibition will open on Saturday 26th June 2010
8.The artwork is to be sent electronically (jpg format: minimum 300 dpi)
9. The maximum number of entries is to be three
10.The name, home and e-mail address, telephone number of the cartoonist are to accompany each cartoon. The artist is to provide a brief CV.
11.The cartoons must be the original work of the artist. Cartoons that are deemed by the jury to be the same or closely similar to that known to be the work of another cartoonist will not be judged.
12.The cartoons must all have appeared in the course of 2009 in a newspaper, magazine or periodical available to the general public, and which is published in one of the member countries of the EuropeanUnion, plus Switzerland, Turkye and Iceland..
13. A catalogue will be published and one free copy will be supplied to each artist whose work has been selected for exhibition.
14. Prize and trophy: the author of the winning cartoon will receive a cheque for 10.000 € as well as abronze trophy created by the Belgian artist Ever Meulen
15.The PCE has the non-exclusive rights to use awarded works to advertise the next edition of the contest, without payment to the artist. The organizers of cartoon contests claim no other rights to the use of awarded cartoons. Donation transfer of ownership of actual paper artwork to the organizers does NOT signify unconditional transfer of copyrights - these are retained, unless otherwise specifically agreed, by the artist. Should further rights be sought, they are to be subject of a new agreement between the artist and the organizers.
16.The PCE claims no rights for the use of non-awarded works.
17.The PCE will inform participants (trough e-mail or website information) if cartoons are received and selected or not selected.
