Cartoonists helping the victims of the China earthquake - 2008

Pray for the victims of the earthquake-stricken area.
Please stretch your kindly hands, help the lives threatened by the big earthquake. According to the report of the China National Monitoring Network, an earthquake of 8.0 scales attacked Wenchuan Town in Sichuan Province in China. The whole society are paying great effort to resist earthquake and provide disaster relief to the disaster area.The confirmed national death toll reached 19,509 by 2 pm May 15, nearly all of them in Sichuan, according to the temporary disaster relief headquarters. Another 9,404 were buried in debris, 7,841 were missing and 26,206 people were injured. The rising death toll affects everyone's heart. The tunnels and bridges are totally destroyed in Wenchuan. Another town called Beichuan is completely in ruins. This natural disaster brings great sadness and pain to people in Wenchuan.When the mankind suffering disaster, the lives being threatened by the earthquake, please stretch you kindly hands, bridge the difficulties together with the fellowmen in the disaster area. The confirmed death toll rose to 32,477

We propose that cartoonists all over the world to show your love, pray for the lives in the disaster area with your works, wish them peace and safe.
1 - You can choose from the following subjects: Pray, Love, Endow, Earthquake, Defending nature disaster. Your can also select your own subject.
2 - Deadline: June 15, 2008.
3- 10 works will be selected and awarded by Chinese souvenirs.
4- Technique of works is unlimited. Black and white or color works are acceptable. The size of works should exceed A4 (including). The works should be in RGB, JPG, or TIF.

Concurso Europeu de Cartoon - “Diálogo Intercultural”,

Caro(a) CartunistaÉ com muito gosto que vimos convidá-lo a participar no Concurso Europeu de Cartoon subordinado ao tema “Diálogo Intercultural”, cuja entrega dos trabalhos termina a 16 de Junho de 2008.O tema deste concurso europeu está em sintonia com a proclamação de 2008 como o Ano Europeu do Diálogo Intercultural.O objectivo desta iniciativa da Comissão Europeia visa promover a sensibilização de todos os cidadãos para o respeito e a promoção da diversidade cultural. 35ª Salão Internacional de Humor de Piracicaba está com inscrições abertas

Estão abertas até o dia 31 de julho as inscrições para a trigésima quinta edição do Salão Internacional de
Humor de Piracicaba, que neste ano será realizado no período de 30 de agosto a 12 de outubro.
Cartunistas, chargistas, caricaturistas e quadrinhistas, profissionais e amadores, podem inscrever no máximo duas peças inéditas, no formato A3 (297 x 420 mm) e que não tenham sido premiadas em outros salões.
O tema é livre e os artistas podem participar nas categorias: Cartum, Charge, Caricatura, Tiras e Vanguarda, essa última criada no ano passado para desenhos desenvolvidos no computador e impressos por meios eletrônicos, ou feitos em outras técnicas e que não respeitem o tamanho padrão das demais.
Premiação
Serão premiados os primeiros colocados de cada categorias, com o valor de R$ 4 mil.
Entre eles, o melhor dos cinco será contemplado com o ‘Grande Prêmio Salão de Humor de Piracicaba’, no valor de mais R$ 5 mil.
Ainda há o Prêmio Aquisitivo da Câmara Municipal, no valor de R$ 2.851,51.
Além da ficha de inscrição, deve constar no verso de cada trabalho as seguintes informações: categoria inscrita, nome completo do autor, nome artístico, endereço completo, telefone, e-mail, número do CPF, ou identidade, e dados bancários.
A exposição contará com os desenhos submetidos e aprovados pelos dos jurados, que medem a qualidade e a quantidade dos trabalhos que irão compor a mostra principal do Salão.

LA 28 EDICIÓN DE CONCURSO INTERNACIONAL DE CARICATURA NASREDDIN HOCA

Una caricatura, caricatura original, caricatura excelenteCondiciones:
a) El concurso está abiero para todos los caricaturistas del mundo.
b) No se impone la condición de que las caricaturas enviadas al concurso sean publicadas o no, pero es imprescindible que no haya sido premiado en otro concurso.
c) El tema del concurso es libre.
d) Es posible participar en el concurso con una sola caricatura.
e) El tamaño de la caricatura no debería ser más grande que el formato 30 x 40 cm. Es imprescindible que las caricaturas sea originales.
f) Los participantes deberían poner su nombre y apellido, su dirección, número de teléfono y su país con letras mayúsculas detrás de la obra. Los artistas también deberían adjuntar un breve curriculum.
g) Deben mandar las caricaturas a la dirección del Comité Organizador antes del 31 de julio de 2008.
h) Los resultados serán dados el 11 de agosto de 2008.
i) Todas las caricaturas participantes en el concurso serán guardadas en el Museo de Caricatura y Humor de Estambul por la Asociación de Caricaturistas.
j) Las caricaturas serán expuestas en un albúm, el jurado elegirá las obras que merecen ser expuestas en el albúm. Será enviado el albúm del concurso a los participantes cuyas obras han sido publicadas en el mismo.
k) Las caricaturas del concurso serán expuestas primero en Estambul, luego de la ceremonia de premio y después en las grandes provincias de Turquía como Ankara, Izmir, Adana, Antalya y Trabzon.l) Se consideran que todos los participantes en el concurso aceptan todas las condiciones.

2. Premios de éxito: 4 premios, para cada una 750 USD

Nasreddin Hodja, the master of Turkish humourists, lived in Aksehir between 1208-1285. He is partly medresse-educated (Muslim theological school), partly self-trained. Historical information on his life and personality is highly limited, but from what has travelled by word-of-mouth from generation to generation, we understand him to have been a significant folk philosopher, with a view on life as intensely amusing as it is stimulating and giving food for thought. He is so much at one with the people that perhaps it is truer to say he lived his works rather than created them. With a strong social personality, Nasreddin Hodja constitutes the nucleus of Turkish folk humour, with stories emanating from his personality being woven by the people around his character century after century, so that the humour of Hodja has reached our day as vigorous and as close to peoples heart as ever.The Association of Cartoonists maintains that in the struggle for a more tolerant and peaceful world, humour, in other words the laughing thought and its universal language, caricature is the most effective weapon against the thought that does not laugh. Bearing this aim in mind, the Association of Cartoonists is organizing each year the International Nasreddin Hodja Cartoon Contest to the living memory of Nasreddin Hodja, Turkish master of popular humour.

THE CONDITIONS
a)The contest is open to all cartoonists all over the world.
b) The cartoonists are free to participate with already published works as long as these works have not previously been awarded in any other contest.
c) Choice of subject is free.
d) The participants may send only one work.
e) The dimensions of works should not exceed 30 x 40 cm and only originals are accepted.
f) Name, surname, address, phone number and country of origin of the participant should be written on the back of his/her work. And also a short CV of the participant should be attached.
g) The works must reach the organizing association not later than July 31, 2008.
h) The results will be announced on August 11,2008.
i) The participating cartoons will be kept at the Cartoon and Humour Museum of Istanbul by the Association of Cartoonists.
j) The participating cartoons will be put into an album. The cartoons for the album and the exhibition will be selected by a jury. The album will be sent to the cartoonists whose pieces of work are exhibited and published in the album.
k) The participating works will be exhibited first in Ýstanbul, then the big cities of Turkey such as Ankara, Izmir, Adana and Antalya.
l) Participants are considered to have accepted all the conditions.

Rules of International Cartoon Festival “Clear Look-2008” (Russia)

1. Participants take part in the competition with an original cartoon. Cartoons must be signed by the cartoonist in case that they are submitted as computer print outs. Photographs, photocopies etc., will not be accepted.
2. Previously awarded works will not be accepted.
3. Size of cartoons should not exceed 21 x 29.7 cm (A4 paper size). Works should be submitted unframed and unmounted.
4. The Organizers will not be responsible for damage that may occur during postageand handling.
5. Competition is open to professional and amateur cartoonists from all over the world.
6. Subject is “Ecology. Pure city. Clear ideas”.
7. Participants are expected to send the filled in participation form, a short curriculum vitae and a photograph together with their cartoons. Otherwise applications will not be considered.
8. The Jury of Festival creates from the experts competent in the field of a cartoon, the fine arts. The Jury will meet in July 2008 for the selection and award of the works. The jury's decision is final and cannot be contested.
9. Award-winning cartoons will not be returned to the artists.
10. Prizes: The first place - 1800$ and «The Gold pencil»,The second place - 1100$ and «The Silver pencil»,The third place - 500$ and «The Bronze pencil».
11. Cartoons which do not win awards will be returned to the artists upon written request.
12. Participants may also leave their cartoons the Cartoon Museum, to be established by the Organizers.
13. All selected works will be displayed in an exhibition and one free copy of the exhibition catalogue will be sent to the artists whose works have been selected.
14. The cartoons will be displayed at http://look.goodideas.su/ (http://vzglyad.goodideas.su/) and may be used for promotional purposes printed or electronically or otherwise and permit third parties to reproduce them for promotional purposes of the exhibition and used without any monetary or otherwise compensation. Participants are considered to have accepted all the conditions stated herein.
15. By filling and signing the entry form, the artist undoubtedly agrees with the above-mentioned terms of the contest.
16. The award ceremony will take place in Belgorod (Russia) September, 16. The exhibition on results of Cartoon Contest will pass at Belgorod children's art school.
