8º Concurso de Cómic de Nou Barris

Desde el Centre Cívic Porta-Sóller organizamos cada año el concurso de
cómic de Nou Barris, este año celebramos la 8ª edición de este certamen.
Los Premios
Hay dos categorías, una para chicos y chicas de 9 a 15 años, y otra para mayores de 16 años. La relación de premios es la siguiente:
Categoría de 9 a 15 años
· 1er premio: 200 €
· 2º premio: 150 €
· 3er premio: 100 €
Los premios son vales cambiables en una tienda de material de dibujo. Se contempla la posibilidad de que, como en otros años, el primer premio tenga, además, un curso en una escuela de cómic
Categoría mayores de 16 años
· 1er premio: 230 €
· 2º premio: 200 €
· 3er premio: 170 €
Los premios son vales cambiables en una tienda de material de dibujo o de cómics. Se contempla la posibilidad de que, como en otros años, el primer premio tenga, además, un curso en una escuela de cómic
El jurado
Un jurado deliberará para designar la distribución de los premios. Este jurado está formado por profesionales cualificados del mundo del cómic. Algunas de las entidades y personalidades que formaron parte de este jurado el año pasado fueron: el museu del còmic, la Plaga editorial, ARKHA, Txiqui Trepax (dibujante).
Actividades que se realizan
El día 17 de septiembre se organiza el acto de entrega de premios y la inauguración de la exposición de todos los trabajos presentados. Todavía no está planificado todo lo que se pretende hacer para dinamizar esta actividad.
La fecha máxima de entrega de trabajos es el 13 de Julio.

2nd International Digital Cartoon Competition

Rules and Regulations
1. Administration - SICAF International Digital Cartoon Competition is administrated by Seoul Animation Center and managed by SICAF(Seoul International Cartoon & Animation Festival Organizing Committee) with the support of the Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
2. Purpose - SICAF International Digital Cartoon Competition aims to present the digital cartoon as a new mode of creating and enjoying cartoon and comics, and to discover and support promising digital cartoon/comic creators.
3. Qualification for Entry - Entering works should be artworks which were created within the characteristics of cartoon/comics, and can be viewed by digital techniquesThe entrant should be the copyright holder of the artwork. Only original, unpublished works without any award-winning or competition selection history and any commercially used history will be accepted. Works which have entered previous SICAF Digital Cartoon Competition cannot enter.
4. Theme and Official Language - There is no specific theme designated by the organizing committee. The official language of the competition is English and Korean.
5. Entry Category - A - Comics: Works created with complete narrative structure and including conclusion of the story B - Cartoon: Works composed of one frame or more.
6. Technical Requirements - A Works should be entered with an appropriate format to the mode of expression chosen by the creator. The format can be selected among the Internet, mobile, or other digital media.B - Both black-and-white and color works can enter.C - There is no limitation about the number of frames or pages. (But, Under 50MB recommended).D - If the artworks are not in either .jpg or .gif format, the entrant must specify the viewer software or tool which can open the file. When any specific viewer software is required, the software should be submitted with the artworks.E - The resolution of the artwork should be 150 dpi or higher.F - If the works contain texts in languages other than the official Language (English or Korean), English translation should be submitted with the artworks.
7. Registration and Receipts - A - No registration fee is required B - An entrant can register on Multi section. C - Entry Deadline: Entry forms and all the materials for the selection much reach to the festival office no later than March 30, 2007. Works received after this date cannot be accepted for the selection. D - Each entrant is under strict obligation to enclose:- Entry Form: One entry form is required for each work. Only completed and signed entry forms will be accepted- Creator's photo or caricature- 3 digital color images representing the work. (min. 6cm×8cm, 300 dpi or higher)- Text or dialogue list in English: If the entrants fail to submit English texts or dialogues, the selection consideration will be done depending only on the artworks. Texts and dialogues will not put into consideration.E - All the materials for the selection should be sent by e-mail to digitalcartoon@sicaf.org
or registered on-line. Offline submission is not allowed. Any request for modification should be made only on and before the entry deadline. Modification after the deadline is not allowed.

9. Selection Process- Pre-Selection: April 2, 2007~ April 6, 2007- On-Line Exhibition of Selected Works and On-line Voting: April 16, 2007 ~ May 13, 2007- Final Selection: May 14, 2007 ~ May 15, 2007- Announcement of Prize Winners: May 16, 2007 (Winners will be contacted in person)- Exhibition: May 23, 2007 ~ May 27, 2007, SICAF Exhibition Venue- Award Ceremony: May 27, 2007
10. Pre-Selection- The selection committees are responsible for choosing works to advance to the final competition.- The members of the selection committee, all of whom must be cartoon/comics professionals, will be appointed by the Chairman of SICAF.- None of the members must be, in any way, involved in the production or distribution of works submitted for selection. The committee members will elect a president at their first meeting.- The selection result will be announced no later than April 9, 2007 on the SICAF official website(www.sicaf.org) by SICAF e-mail newsletter.- To withdraw a submitted work, a written request should be sent to the SICAF Organizing Committee by March 24. No request for the withdrawal after that day will be accepted.
11. Final Selection - The final selection will be conducted from May 14 to 15, 2007, and the International Jury is responsible to decide the award-winning works.- During the final selection, the selected will be accessible on the SICAF official website and SICAF's official partner websites. On-line voting will be open to general public during the period.- The International Jury members, all of whom must be cartoon/comics professionals, will be appointed by the Chairman or SICAF, and will be made public no later than March 26, 2007 on the SICAF official website.- The jury will be made up of 40% of foreign personalities, and no jury member must be, in any way, involved in the production or distribution of works presented in competition.- The decision of the International Jury will be considered final, and no questions regarding the decisions will be accepted.
12. Exclusion on selection and Annulment of Award Decision - * An entry will not be considered for selection when:A - The entry form is not completed and the entrant's information is not clearly writtenB - What is written in the entry form is different from what really is.C - The entrant is not the copyright holder of the work* Award-winning decision will be annulled when:A - The entrant is not the copyright holder of the workB - The winning work has been awarded or selected at any previous competitionC - The winning work is found to be a plagiarism of, or closely similar to other works
13. Translation - The SICAF Organizing Committee will make Korean translations of non-Korean works selected for the final competition. It will bear all expenses of translation only if the festival office receives the complete English text of the dialogue and commentary. The Korean translation will remain the property of SICAF. Korean translation will be exhibited with the artwork during the festival period.- Non-English texts should be translated in English by the entrants themselves, at their own expense.
14. Invitation - The conditions for covering costs for award-winning creators are as following.Grand Prize / Gold Prize / Silver Prize / Bronze Prize / Jury Special Prize / Netizen's Choice- Festival accreditation- Accommodation and meal allowance * The invitation is not transferable under any circumstances* Flight expense, accommodation, and meal allowances are provided only to the winner whose residence is out of Seoul Metropolitan Area. If a work is produced by 2 of more creators, only one of the creators will be entitled to the hospitality.
15. Promotional Use - All the works selected for the final competition can be exhibited at the SICAF exhibition venue. For promotion purpose, the works will be presented in all the official catalogues and pamphlets published by the SICAF Organizing Committee and on the Internet. All the rights related to the works will be abided by.- After the closing of the festival, the SICAF Organizing Committee is granted the right to reproduce award winning works and selected works for promotion purpose. The SICAF Organizing Committee obtains a non-exclusive right to use the works without any further contract with the entrants.- For the promotional use, the entrants may be requested to provide artworks with higher-definition.- Award-winning works can be serialized on digital media. On the agreement of creators, award-winning works can be published in a compilation titled "SICAF Digital Cartoon Competition Winners."- Any other proposed use outside of the Festival will be referred by the SICAF Organizing Committee to the entrants for direct negotiation.
16. Other- Each entrant should hold all the right license and permission to use the materials and softwares used to create the entering work, including graphic software packages for creating artworks.- All the materials submitted for selection will not be returned.- Matters not mentioned in these regulations will be decided by the SICAF Organizing Committee- By submitting the entry form for SICAF 2007 International Digital Cartoon Competition, the entrant accepts, without reservation, the terms of the present regulations as stated in this.For further informations:digitalcartoon@sicaf.orgwww.sicaf.org

XV Salao Internacional de BD de Viseu 2007

CONCURSO DE BANDA DESENHADA

"Histórias hilariantes"Procurando ir de encontro aos objectivos de promoção e divulgação da banda desenhada junto das camadas jovens, o GICAV promove este ano o 3.º Concurso de BD, em simultâneo com o XV salão internacional de BD.Os concorrentes deverão criar uma história, numa prancha (tamanho A4 ou A3) ou numa tira, a cores ou preto e branco, subordinada ao tema "histórias hilariantes" (o tema do XV salão é o Humor na BD).Os trabalhos deverão ser enviados por correio ao GICAV, ou entregues em mão na sede da associação, até ao dia 15 de Maio de 2007 (endereço - Rua João Mendes -vulgo rua das bocas - n.º 51, 2.º andar 3500 -142 Viseu; telefone: 968844772).Os trabalhos deverão ser assinados com pseudónimo. A identidade do autor (nome verdadeiro, morada completa, telefone) deverá ser colocada dentro de envelope fechado, com o registo do pseudónimo no exterior. Os trabalhos serão divulgados no XV salão de BD de Viseu, que decorrerá no final de Setembro, início de Outubro. 27th International Nasreddin Hodja Cartoon Contest

THE CONDITIONS
a) The contest is open to all cartoonists all over the world.
b) The cartoonists are free to participate with already published works as long as these works have not previously been awarded in any other contest.
c) The theme of the cartoons is free for the participants to decide.
d) The participants may send only one work.
e) The dimensions of works should not exceed 30 x 40 cm and only originals are accepted.
f) Name, surname, address, phone number and country of origin of the participant should be written on the back of his/her work. And also a short CV of the participant should be attached.
g) The works must reach the organizing association not later than 16th July 2007.
h) The results will be announced on 1st August 2007.
i) The participating cartoons will be kept at the Cartoon and Humour Museum of Istanbul by the Association of Cartoonists.
j) The participating cartoons will be put into album. The cartoons for the album and the exhibition will be selected by a jury. An album will be sent to the cartoonists whose piece of work are exhibited and published in the album.
k) The participating works will be exhibited first in Istanbul then the big cities of Turkey such as Ankara, İzmir, Adana and Antalya.
l) Participants are considered to have accepted all the conditions.

The 16th Daejeon International Cartoon Contest

The Daejeon City is inviting world cartoonists to take part in DICACO 2007 (the 15th Daejeon International Cartoon Contest).
1.This year's contest comprises a Theme section (titled Relief & Service) and a Free section.
2.The size of works should be smaller than 297mm¡¿420mm.
3.Any color, free style, and unlimited items.
4.Each entrant should provide title, name, age, address, career, and telephone number on reverse.
5.The deadline for entry is Jun. 30, 2007.

6th annual open competition of graphic humour - Joke for FOR

1. Participation conditions
The organisers will announce the competition by publishing the conditions for participation in periodicals and distributing them to selected artists in the Czech Republic and abroad. The competition is open to all who realise the following conditions. By sending in their pictures, each competitor accepts the rules of competition.

2. Content and technical conditions
Theme: “The brick can not be replaced”
(The competition is the part of the 18th International Building Trade Fair FOR ARCH 2007)
Number of pictures: maximum of 4
Format: minimum A4 – maximum A3
Signatures: All pictures must be signed by the author on the front side and the author’s name, address and e-mail address must be written on the back side.
Notice: a) the original piece only
b) the graphical techniques must be signed by an author on the front page and marked by the specification of number of prints and the serial number of an entered exemplar
c) the competition works can not be awarded on the other international competition in the past
3. Valid regulation
- 40 pictures will be chosen for the competition and exhibition; an international jury will select the prize-winning entries.
- Each of the authors of the pictures selected for inclusion in this year’s collection to be displayed at a biennial exhibition will obtain a catalogue.
- The competitors agree that their work could be used for publicity and promotion in materials promoting the competition, or could appear in the media for the purpose of promoting the event or presenting the results and the authors.
- The competitors agree that the sponsors and advertisers of the competition have privilege options to use works selected by them for their own presentations or promotions at the author’s regular fee, and the right to contact selected authors for further co-operation.
- The prize-winning works and the final collection of a maximum of 40 works will become the property of the organisers. Unselected work will be returned to the authors if the envelope with address and stamp is enclosed.
4. Prizes and awards (total donation CZK 33 000,- » ca.EUR 1200 )
1st place FOR-pencil - gold + diploma + 10 000 CZK (350 EUR)
2nd place FOR-pencil - silver + 8 000 CZK
3rd place FOR-pencil - bronze + 6 000 CZK
4th place Honourable FOR-pencil + 4 000 CZK
5th place Special FOR-pencil + 2 000 CZK
3x honourable mention + 1000 CZK (for Czech authors only)

The author of 1st prize-winning work will be invited to attend the awards ceremony and his expenses for the travel and one night in hotel in Prague will be covered (foreign author - from the borders of Czech Republic to Prague and back).
The glass trophy for the winners will be given to the author only, who attends the ceremony on September 6, 2007, or the persons entrusted by the author.
For the excused authors, there will be delivered diplomas and money by the post.

The exhibited collection will be displayed at other regional exhibition centres in the Czech Republic.

Opening of the exhibition at the trade fair FOR ARCH: 18th September, 2007

7. Jury
The jury will have at least five members. Both, organisers and sponsors, will have their own members in jury. The organiser reserves the right to name the jury and its chairman and secretary. The jury will receive remuneration for serving on the jury. Transportation will be covered for members of jury living outside of Prague. The organiser reserves the right to set the criteria for judging the competing works after consultation with the chairman of the jury. The jury will select 50 of the best works for the final competition and will select the prize-winning works according Point 4 of this statute.

7th International Biennale Cartoon Písek 2007

Preamble

The International Biennale Cartoon Písek takes place every odd year since 1995 and is an open competition where authors from the Czech Republic and abroad can attend.

The organizers are
The Town of Písek and the Czech Union of Cartoonists
The main partner of the 7th Biennale is JITONA a.s
The department of culture and tourism represents the Town of Písek.


1 - Participation Conditions
The competition is declared by publishing in specialized press and by sending the competition rules to distinguished authors in the Czech Republic and abroad by electronic mail. The participant accedes to the rules of the biennale set in the statues by sending in the cartoons. The participant of the competition can be anyone who will meet the following requirements.

2 - Content and Technical Conditions
Theme: FURNITURE MAKES HOME
Number of cartoons: minimum 3 (three), maximum 5 (five).
Format: minimum A4, maximum A3.
The cartoons can be coloured as well as monochrome; each cartoon must be signed with the name and address of the participant on the backside.
Cartoons can be accepted also in electronic form (JPG or PDF format, the cartoon size shall be under 1MB).
The competition cartoons must not have received any prize in the past in other international competition.

3 - Current Regulations
- Selection of the cartoons for the exhibition, selection of 40 finalists and conferment of prizes will be performed by an international jury on it’s special session.
- The cartoons sent by electronic mail has to be sent in original after a call of the organisers in case the cartoon was chosen into the final collection of 40 cartoons.
- Each author chosen into the exhibition collection will obtain a catalogue in which all the participants will be named. The catalogue cartoons will be selected from the final collection.
- The participants agree that the cartoons can be used for promotion and presentation
of the Biennale in the biennale advertising materials and in the means of communication for it’s promotion and also in case of professional review of the author or the Biennale.
- The main partner JITONA a.s. has the right for use of 12 chosen competitive cartoons from the final collection and their non commercial use in his presentation or promotion free of charge and for the contact with chosen author for eventual long-term cooperation.
- Final cartoons - maximum 40 - will become the property of the Town of Písek. Other cartoons will be returned until June 30, 2008.
- The most appreciated foreign author and the most appreciated Czech author will have
individual exhibitions within the Biennale 2009. The organizer will cover the travel costs and accommodation for one person and one night.
- The prize-winners and the jury will be invited to the varnishing day and their accommodation will be reimbursed. Foreign winners appertain to a travel contribution of 100 EUR.
- The other participants of the Biennale can book their accommodation through the Information Centre, Heydukova 97, CZ-39701 Písek, tel./fax: + 420 382 213 592,

- The accommodation can also be paid for invited guests on whom the organisers will agree.

4 - Prizes
The Main Prize: sandglass clock + 20.000 CZK
The Town of Písek Award: sandglass clock + 10.000 CZK
The Miroslav Liďák (Haďák) Prize: sandglass clock + 5.000 CZK
JITONA a.s. Award: bedroom furniture Tempio worth 40.000 CZK
3 prizes: sandglass clock + 1.000 CZK + in-kind award of JITONA a.s.
4 prizes: small bag with sand + 1.000 CZK + in-kind award of JITONA a.s.
Diplomas and honourable mention: the number is not limited; it depends on decision of the jury.

6 - Place of action
The Gallery of the Prácheňské Museum in Písek.
The exhibition (the final collection) will be relocated to Prague in 2009.

7 - Calendar
Announcement: March 2007
Application closing date: May 18, 2007
Varnishing day: September 4, 2007 - after the open varnishing day there will be a festive evening with the participation of the invited authors, partners and organizers.
Exhibition: September 6 - 30, 2007

9 - Catalogue
Format A5, approximately 148 pages, up to 1.000 copies.
Each exhibitor will receive one copy of the catalogue, Czech Union of cartoonists 100 copies, the main partner 50 copies, other partners 5 to 20 copies according to their agreement. Their logo in the catalogue and advertisement according to previous agreement.

All information is made public on the website www.cartoon-pisek.cz. After each year the information will be saved in the website archives.
