TWENTIETH CENTURY ART
The twentieth century was the greatest era of poetics and styles. In the twentieth century, art movements went through a frantic, exciting and revolutionary time. The Biennial, fifty years on from its first exhibition, opens its doors with twentieth century art, with different authors writing about its history and with the contribution of all the participating artists, through the timeless use of humour that favours irreverent action over academic “rigidity”.
The Biennial of Humour in Art in Tolentino will be the place where modernity will interpret the poetics, styles and artists that formed the twentieth century, with the language of fantasy, disorder, nonsense, creativity and humour.
